I’m Umalohókan, your Jedi Chaplain, and I’m here to guide you on your spiritual journey with the wisdom of the Jedi Code and the compassion of pastoral care. Like a lightsaber illuminating the dark, my mission is to help you find balance in life’s challenges — whether through meditation, rituals, or counseling. Inspired by the Jedi path, I’ve dedicated my life to serving others, and I’m excited to share my story and invite you into this unique community. May the Force be with you as we begin!

My Path to Jedi Chaplaincy

For nearly 30 years, I’ve served as a lay clergy member, blending faith with service to uplift those around me. My journey includes a 2-year pastoral care training program and a 1-year ministry school at my local church, where I was commissioned as a lay leader and Community Chaplain.

I hold certifications in Chaplaincy and Emotional & Spiritual First Aid, equipping me to offer compassionate support. My diploma and associate’s degree in Theology from In Christ International Bible College deepened my understanding of spiritual guidance, and I’m currently pursuing a Master of Divinity degree at Northeastern Seminary, set to graduate by the end of 2026.

These experiences shape my approach, merging Christian-inspired care with Jedi principles to serve your unique path. Whether you’re facing inner turmoil or seeking serenity, I’m here to walk beside you.

Choosing My Jedi Name

Every Jedi has a name that reflects their essence, and mine came through reflection and inspiration. Names imbued with meaning and prophetic significance serve as powerful vessels, carrying aspirations and guiding one’s purpose within a community.

The name “Umalohókan,” rooted in indigenous or constructed linguistic traditions, suggests a storyteller or messenger, derived from terms like “uma” (meaning “light” or “tranquility” in Sanskrit) and “lohókan,” which may evoke a herald or keeper of wisdom in certain cultural contexts. The nickname “Uma,” linked to the Hindu goddess Parvati, embodies light, peace, and divine feminine strength, as well as resilience and compassion.

It aligns with my pastoral calling to be a steady guide, serving as a beacon of tranquility and wisdom in the Force. I chose it not just as a nod to Star Wars lore but as a commitment to live out the Jedi Code — peace over emotion, knowledge over ignorance. This name grounds my mission to help you find your own light, whether through a lightsaber dedication or a cleansing ritual, and is a prophetic call to lead with compassion, to illuminate paths and strengthen community bonds through service and spiritual guidance.

In many traditions, including Jedi philosophy, a name with meaning or prophetic significance acts as a guiding star, shaping one’s identity and mission. For instance, a name like “John” reflects simplicity, strength, and a call to serve, mirroring the wisdom of Jedi like Obi-Wan. Such names inspire us to live out their inherent values, aligning our actions with the Force’s principles of peace and harmony. They become prophetic touchstones, reminding us of our potential to impact others and fulfill a higher calling.
